dachar lane, steward & founder of selahh studios

at five years old, i stood behind a church podium that towered above me and delivered a prayer that didn’t just fill the room — it resonated. every word carried weight, every pause held meaning, and i could feel the sanctuary leaning in, caught by something far greater than me. while most find fear in words and public speaking, i found a Spirit-led power that day. i discovered the force not in just words or my voice — but in what happens when God is behind them. that same voice and revalation carried me through student speeches, protest chants, press releases, and brand campaigns all designed to inspire, lead, and serve.

outside of work, my faith guides everything i do. i lead social and marketing at my local church, love running, hiking, football (go commanders!), and championing justice and equity. but above all, i love people — helping them feel seen, heard, and valued through the power of words.

at the heart of it all, my mission is simple: to glorify God and advance His kingdom through the gifts He’s blessed me with — one story, one message, one word at a time.

i honed that voice academically and professionally, studying strategic legal, and management communication at howard university and earning my master’s in mass communications from virginia commonwealth university. since then, i’ve applied my skills across nonprofits, agencies, sports, and government — from oxfam america to edelman, the u.s. department of education, and the washington commanders.

i’ve written for c-suite executives and commissioners, ghostwritten speeches, shaped public messaging, and even developed campaigns for popular food brands. today, i serve as a communications specialist for local government in houston, texas, helping champion public policy and good government with clarity, impact, and integrity.
